时间过得真快,上一次来这里都是一年前了。那这么说的话,发售也要推迟了吧。话说,泥们是计划early access推出,还是直接推出正式版?

是的 :( 制作人在去年发公告说了发布时间会晚于众筹的计划,因为众筹结束后得到了FFF Bayern的额外资金,团队想把游戏进一步打磨。

登录Steam的话,还是会先进入early access,然后再正式发售。此外,上周日我们也在KS页面做了更新。曾经为“八方旅人”绘制大地图的小姐姐也为RB绘制了大地图。
与此同时,战斗测试版的研发工作正在有序的进行着,目前大家在修bug,以及制作遭遇战的内容部分,当然,还有一些怪物肖像和特效正在导入。

大家新年好!《Realms Beyond》在KS众筹成功后又获得了来自德国FFF Bayern游戏基金的10万欧元支持,开发团队把这笔资金用到了游戏研发上,希望为玩家带来更多的内容。因此,对于众筹回报中有战斗测试版(Combat Demo)的玩家可能要再等等了。 :hug:

战斗测试版最初预计的功能不多,但在有了外部资金以后,开发团队希望为该版本加入更多元素。战斗测试版不仅仅只包含战斗,他其实是更像是游戏的微缩版:包含有任务,战斗,大地图以及商店以及其他更多种元素。因为加入了更多内容,所以该版本也比原定日期推迟了几个月。在此向之前久等的众筹支持者们说声抱歉! :salute:

战斗测试版目前预计在2020年3月前放出,如果后续有新的情况,我们也会在中文版区及时发布消息。感谢大家一直以来的支持,2020年内,《Realms Beyond》也会继续在中国的一些游戏展中展出,敬请期待! :salute:

( "逝者秘尘"是Magic The Gathering中Saviors of Kamigawa系列同名卡Ashes of the Fallen的中文译名)

PS.人人都爱这类游戏中的Romance!我能得到一些关于本游戏中是否拥有队友Romance要素的官方回复吗?

当开始构筑游戏的战斗系统时,有大量底层工作需要进行。我们需要实现角色动画系统,并开发诸如战斗逻辑,关卡拓扑六边格生成以及六边格即时寻路这样的内容。

所以并没有什么时间留给我们思考关于AI这样的高级内容。而结果就是,我们的第一个AI雏形随着我们的开发进度而不断成长。起初这个AI只会近战攻击,然后我们加入了远程攻击。后来又将敌方的法术AI做了优化,我们为其加入了智能施法范围(即,如何施放法术可以击中最多敌人和最少友军)。最后我们加入了一些特殊的行为模式(如逃跑),来体现中了恐惧术后的角色行为。我们意识到AI需要处理运行时加载的法术脚本。(为了让运行时动态加载成为可能),我们编写了一些例程来模拟释放法术,并用更加通用的方法判断它们的效果。

因此,我们的AI雏形一直在不断成长,直到我们觉得它能应对所有我们预想到的情况。后来,我们再次将其拆解重做,让它更加灵活并易于修正。现在我们终于能来谈谈AI了。


视觉化的Realms Beyond中的AI Debug界面

我们在开发AI时想的核心问题是:我们对一个回合制AI有何期许?

好吧,从技术角度来说,我们的期望值很高!一个恶魔巫师不用火球术而用了魔法飞弹,或者他丢出的火球并没能对玩家小队造成最大伤害,这都是不能接受的。一个只会攻击最近处目标但却不会绕道你的法师背后给予一记背刺的刺客,不仅会让你觉得缺乏真实感,而且也会让你觉得对付这种敌人直接卡位就行了,其策略性就大打折扣了。此外,一个走位不会躲避敌人借机攻击的人类NPC队友也会让你感到很烦。所以我们从“技术”角度来说,你们可以认为我们对AI的期待值真的“很高”。一个恰到好处的(基于 3.5e 规则)战斗AI需要能够进行许多智能判断,才能让我们觉得敌人是有脑子的。

假如我们能研发出具备上述功能的AI,那我们就能够去讨论另一个话题了:我们是否会更看重AI的个性而非AI的质量?

如果每个敌人的行为都是最优化的,那么战斗难度也会陡然上升。这样一来,也没什么沉浸感了。我们想让哥布林们去围攻距离它们最近的目标,我们想让兽人无视借机攻击,我们想让食人魔蠢到都不会离开一片会持续受到伤害的区域。就算是具有“智慧”的敌人也应该在游戏中出现选择:绝大部分种族会无视在战斗中昏迷的,或者溃散的敌人,继续攻击仍然有作战能力的人。但部分邪恶生物,例如哥布林和豺狼人会对所有倒下的敌人进行补刀。正是有了这样的小细节才会让战斗充满沉浸感。

我们希望我们的AI不仅能做出“正确”的决定,更能让敌人的行为足够多样。这样玩家就可以发现不同敌人有着不同的行为模式,或许你会慢慢对某一种敌人产生憎恶之情。

顺带一提,该游戏的作者Pierre Begue很快就会开始续作的kickstarter众筹了。

多亏了这款游戏,我们才萌发并确定了该如何打造我们游戏中的敌人。“圣杯骑士”的AI(当然,里面的遭遇战也很棒)让每一场战斗都非常有趣。虽然特别容易发展成卡门战(尤其是学会了石墙术以后),但是探索AI弱点本来也就是游戏乐趣的一环。

我们应该很快就能用视频给大家展示AI行为的多样性。欢迎大家在此留言告诉我们您关于回合制AI的高见。如果你有与风骚AI斗智斗勇的经验的话也务必请与我们分享。

Gameplay Discussion / What would make Realms Beyond worth 90%+ on Metacritic?

Maybe you can check the game called "The scroll of Taiwu" on steam, their team have only 3~4 people before the game released on Steam, they've tried to contact lots of mainstream gaming media but only one or two give them response before they successful.

Before the release of their games, many media and publishers were not optimistic about them, because many people think the game is too complicated.(In that game you can find simulation management system, forging smelting system, RPG system, dynamic social character system, marriage and birth subsystem, and reincarnation system.)

You can find the reviews below their game always said:"You are a beginner if you hadn't play the game for more than 100 hours." :hahano:

Sure, the game have no Metacritic score (maybe because it on EA stage) but you can check the positive reviews about the game:" 89% positive reviews and it have 15,339 reviews in total now." I'm mot sure if they can have more than 90% positive reviews when it formal released but I think it's a very good game for lots of players.

Obviously, this is not a game that only focuses on one system but focuses on one element--Wuxia style. If you have played the game, you will enjoy yourself in their large and open world of Wuxia. The game had been on Steam's EA stage(21th Sep. 2018) only for 3 months but had already sold more than 1,000,000 copies(25th Dec. 2018), better than many big titles on Steam.

They were only insisting on the games that a particular user group needed. The most important thing was that they insisted on making a game they(the developer) liked. In the process, they actively listen to feedback from specific groups of players and make efficient corrections and optimizations for the game.

There is always have a product that breaks the inherent understanding of game sales, just as there is always a protagonist who can change the game world. :salute:

I'm not sure what you've seen from my comment, I saw the same shiny things between the two games/developers. I wish all the game developers who are doing things seriously can get a good result.  :hug:

中文讨论区开张了! :salute:《Realms Beyond》(以下简称RB)已经完成在Kickstarter上的基础众筹目标(10万欧元)并在结束之时取得了12万欧元的好成绩。同时也解锁了3个延伸目标,其中包括《Battle Brother(战场兄弟)》的剧本作者加盟RB剧本创作,以及为《Gothic(哥特王朝)》三部曲和《Risen(崛起)》作曲的作曲家加盟。



《Realms Beyond》的译名我们还在讨论中。如果确定,会在第一时间公布。这次的众筹支持者中有不少来自中国,再次感谢大家的支持! :hug:

Some ideas about Camp & Survival

When I played Dark Souls II, I can see the other players' notes and shadows before they died. That made me feel not alone even I was playing a single-player game, facing a cold and big screen.

Besides, in the game Transistor (https://store.steampowered.com/app/237930/Transistor/), I can see how many players made the same decision with me, how many made different decisions with me. Perhaps some scenarios will not open until a certain number of players have completed a certain number of challenges. OK, I admit I have played that game for only several hours. 8)

The similar things you can find in the game Helldivers (https://store.steampowered.com/app/394510/HELLDIVERS_A_New_Hell_Edition/), if your faction conquered a Planet or the other factions. OK, Helldivers have multiplayer mode game but I think something can be used in a single-player games.

I want something like those during the camp (or in RB) but I don't know how to begin the topic. [You can set this feature as an option. If someone doesn't like this, he can turn it off. ]

Now, there are two topics in my brain so I type them below. Again, just immature ideas, welcome to discuss. ;)

I think If we can collect players' game data and extract some interesting.

1. Data from steam friends

For example: when you want to start a campfire around a special dungeon, you will remember a friend told you the place is dangerous because he was failed several times there.

2. Data from all the steam players
 
Some players live a life like me: go to work in an office, and play games after work. Office and home are my two points in daily life. Maybe I will never know a fan of Lovecraft live around me, but when I go to the bar not far from my house, the keeper said "Hey, one guy brought a statue of Cthulhu to my store yesterday and told me the stories about Lovecraft." At that moment, I know his existence.

When I enter a tavern in RB, the keeper says "Hey buddy, would you like something to drink? Our best seller is the XXX beer. As of last week 10,123 sales to the adventurers like you. " Maybe I am a member in one of the factions(such as a Shadow Alliance Union) in RB, I can check how many members in the faction around the world.

I found "Our complex and diverse NPC schedules ensure that the world feels alive, and that every character has a purpose in the world." on KS page. Maybe "Dynamic data feedback system" can ensure one player feels the other players alive? 8)

In fact, I don't know the relationship between this topic and what I said before, but I think there maybe some connection between them. So I called it "Stretch Topic".
The first time I heard this because I played the game called Frozen Synapse. TBH, I haven't read the article below until I realized I forget how to spell the word "Asynchronous". I googled it and find the article, maybe you can have a read if you think this idea is OK for you. ;)

If your party are killed in the camp, maybe the other players can find some item of your party in a random hex, with a brief introduction "XXX's party".

So many cool ideas from everyone. I really dig that random "dream" buff thing @Omenaton proposed earlier for wizards, at least the principle, which goes together with that idea I posted much earlier about unique "camping skills", to call them somehow, or unique things to do while camping, and random "camping events/dialogues", and other stuff specifically tied to your class/race/condition/stats etc. Let us hope everything turns out Ok (all these ideas are so wonderful and everything but so freaking HARD to implement!)

When talk about "Dream", just check the dreams from Elona, maybe you can get inspiration from it. http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Sleep ;)
I remember that Elona has a English version, maybe you @Andronius The Druid can try it, a small game has lots of shiny things inside.

Just some immature ideas, I had played a game called Elona. In the game, house(building) is a very special thing for me.  ;)
You can buy or gain property deeds and build them in the world map, such as:
 
Museum: Place figures and cards of monsters in a museum to attract visitors. Doing so will increase the salary made by the museum.  http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Museum

Shop: You must have one of your companions stay at the shop to sell items to customers. The salesperson's success is dependent on their Charisma attribute and Negotiation skill.

Another thing is that Kickstarter is credit card only, so in countries where those are not popular, of course there will be less backers (Germany is a good example for that - not many people here have them because unless you import stuff, they are useless).

Agree with you. If the KS can support more payment ways around the world, I think RB will be successful earlier.  8)
