I was more hoping for SoZ implementation... guess I will have to select the person with highest CHA to talk then.

Yes, it would be dope. But choosing high cha party member would require occasional quicksave and reload approach. I also dislike when party members in DOS1 ruin dialogue or choice of the players. So, hope this won't be the case here.

Having a module that is written with a bard in mind would probably make the class more interesting. If I had a bardic companion, I'd rather they be human or half-elf with a swashbuckling build; maybe a robin hood bandit bard, for example. I'm tired of RPGs that use the gimmicky gnome or halfling bard. In HotU, Sharwyn was preferable to Deekin.

Yeah I'd also like to see more bards who are con artists or spies. Lots of different directions they could go in beyond comic relief character.  Not sure if I'm the person best suited to implement the bard class mechanics, but assuming some more experienced modder takes that project on, perhaps I'll create an adventure designed for bard characters.

I'm personally fan of Elven battlecaster buffer bard. Just to give you an idea.

We don't have level scaling or auto levelling for enemies.
Some areas are more dangerous than others, with more powerful encounters.

During overland encounters, you can actually flee but you need to match some criterias to do so. If one of your characters is already down, you'll lose him/her.


Thank you. Level scaling is fine, but lack of level scaling gives games more clearer path, which doesn't make it linerar, nor a chore. I hate what pillars did, where you had level scaling, but it was badly optimized and a chore.
I like it Pathfinder Kingmaker way...

I understand bards are not popular among fandom, but I don't think it's game based on d&d rules without bards... I do not think of that when it comes to monks, even IWD2 has bards...

Don't get me wrong, I totally get lone adventurer

but I play party because I can build it up with more beef than lone adventurer. I loved IWD2 and that's why I back this up. I hope you really can do stuff like Storm of Zehir party/adventuring or something like IWD2, but with recruitables.
Definitely NOT in favor of BG approach because then you clearly have only one guy and any other party member from beginning is extra baggage.
