Back home from Gamescom

There and back again – is what we’d say about our adventure at the Gamescom!

We are finally home again after an amazing week full of meeting new and old friends, planning, joking, being way too tired, feeling all sorts of overwhelming things, almost losing our voices, and explaining what we are doing over and over again to you guys!

We want to extend a very warm thank you to the company Trusted Events and their whole team for providing us with technical equipment at Gamescom: A huge 60 inch TV, two lightning fast computers with peripherals, as well as two PC monitors. Also a big thanks to them for sharing their invaluable expertise in setting up exhibition booths at conventions, especially Gamescom...

Gamescom 2018 – What a ride!

As you know, me and my guys from Ceres Games went to this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany,
which is the biggest computer game exhibition in the world!

Given this huge opportunity to show the world what we have achieved in the past two years we
decided that we couldn’t just come, set up a computer, stick a poster on the wall, and sit there for six
days? Oh no! We came and brought a cabinet! A cabinet, you may ask, what’s that all about?

Well! Let me enlighten you: As some of you may be aware of, I just cannot do anything without
it being epic. So Peter, our big master chief (srsly he’s tall :D) brought this old cabinet for me to
to decorate the booth with. And so I did! As you can see it’s filled to the brim with all sorts of magic
and let me tell you something: It’s the ...

Best Booth Award at Gamescom’s Indie Arena 2018

Yesterday we posted an update on our experience at Gamescom and how we constructed our booth to create a fantasy atmosphere fitting for our game. Today we have been awarded the prize for the Best Booth of the Indie Arena!

We feel honored that our booth was so well-received. We have to give credit to our suppliers, who provided us with the swords and armor pieces on display at our booth: The online store for authentic replica weapons and armor,, and the media production group Kaptorga – Visual History. Without their generous contributions, our booth would only have been half as beautiful!

Many thanks also to our colleagues and the volunteers at the Indie Arena who voted for our booth. And of course to the many visitors who show interest in our classic old-school RPG...

Heading to the Gamescom 2018!

You probably noticed our updates have become less frequent lately, but after weeks of very intensive work, we can finally announce our participation in the Indie Arena Booth 2018 at Gamescom starting less than two weeks from now (21st-25th August).

We want to allow visitors to enjoy the complete gameplay experience of Realms Beyond, therefore we had to finish and polish all relevant gameplay elements in these last few weeks and months.

You can find more information about us in the Indie Arena Booth press kit here: Indie Arena Booth – Realms Beyond

If you plan to attend Gamescom in Cologne this year, you can find us in hall 10.1. We are looking forward to seeing you at our booth where you can have a shot at playing our game and see as-of-yet unpublished features, like the world map...

Combat Alpha – Gameplay Video

Finally, we completed the first iteration of the combat system and recorded a HD video to demonstrate it to you.

If YouTube starts the video in low, blurry quality, please change the resolution manually to 1080p60 or 720p60.

Please be aware, due to the nature of alpha versions, the user interface (especially placeholder icons) and other elements such as sounds, camera, FXs and animations are still work in progress and therefore not final.

If you wonder about the Wizard’s overcrowded spellbook: We made every spell available (according to his 9th level) for testing purposes. Under real circumstances, he wouldn’t had so many spells already unlocked.

We appreciate hearing your feedback and suggestions for improvements related to the combat system.

Also, based on your feedback to previously pu...
